Stash Report 28 March 2010..............& Sharie's News

It has been a tough week.  Jim went into the hospital by ambulance on Sunday with breathing problems.  He was in ICU until Wednesday afternoon when they transfered him to another floor.  He came home yesterday.  I spent many hours at the hospital.  My hand project kept my hands and mind busy.  Jim is now on his way to recovery.

Stash Report 21 March 2010....................& Sharie's News

Jim's niece, Sharon, (from Sacramento) visited us this past week.  She was in Jackson, MS working on a dog rescue project.  They rescued 187 dogs from one place.  The woman thought she was doing a good thing, but the good thing got out of control.  The dogs are now in good hands and will find good homes.  It is so wonderful to have people who will do this work and the costs are mostly out of their own pockets.  Since Sharon was so close, she rented a car, drove over and then flew out of our local airport.  It was so nice to see her again.  We are hoping for another visit soon.

Today, I hope to get back to quilting.  I did pull fabric for a quilt I designed.  I won't start it until I get something off my design board.  I don't think I will have to buy anything for this quilt.  I had a fat quarter bundle (Chocolat) and a number of pieces from my stash that will work nicely.  I don't think I will have to buy anything for the back either.  Borders, now that might be a problem.  I will worry about it when I get there.

Anyone wanting to see pictures of our visitors, Jim, Vic and me in 2010 scroll down to the family and pet section.

Stash Report 14 March 2010..................and Sharie's News

I have had a busy week.  My husband was in the hospital (from Monday night until late Wednesday afternoon).  He has a number of health problems, but went in with problems breathing.  They fixed him up and he is doing well.  My daughter came from Wisconsin.  She brought my granddaughter and it was so nice to see them.  It was a short visit but very nice.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG.........  Reference the tree picture...............It is a Bradford Pear.  We have had several nice days.  It is now 79 degrees and the sun is shining.  I know that spring won't last long and summer will be here with all the heat and humidity.  In July, I will be wishing for winter again.  It is a vicious cycle.

What is on my Design Wall..............& A Finished Quilt

I designed this quilt and just had to start it to see what it was going to look like.  As you can see there are other things on my design board.  The stars don't really count because they are my hand project.  The pineapples in the background - it is nearly finished as far as making the blocks.  I have one to go.

The teapot quilt - is finished.  I still have some thread jumpers to take care of.  This is going into the mail tomorrow.  It is for my sister.  She is a collector of beautiful old teapots.

Stash Report 7 March 2010 & Sharie's News....................

There is not much going on at the home front.  I attended a quilt show in Deridder, LA yesterday.  It was a lovely quilt show.  The vendors were nice.  I was sorry that I had not taken my scissors to be sharpened.  It was a lovely day.  It was so nice to have the sun shining.  I rode with two other ladies.  Of coarse we went to lunch.  We found this really nice little place - Two Sisters.  It is a deli and they sell pecans.  The food was really good.  I had a small bowl of potato soup.  I would like to have that recipe.  I also had a ham & cheese sandwich - reaaally good.  They also had raspberry tea.  Before I left, I had to buy some of the chocolate covered pecans.  I highly recommend it if you are near Deridder.

What else did I do this week?  I was busy all week, I must have done something.  I have joined a group making Sylvia's Bridal Sampler.  We meet one day each week.  The guild meeting was this week.  That is great fun.  We go to supper before the meeting.  I am also in a group making the Bali Wedding Star. That meets once a week.  And I was invited to join a bee, that meeting was this week, and they meet once a month.  And somewhere in there I managed to do dishes, wash clothes, and all the other things I must do.  Most of them boring.
