George has arrived. He is still in a box. I cannot put this "stuff" together (back problems) so thus Claudia made an attempt. We managed to get the table up but there is some knobs in the package (no directions). The picture shows the table with the knobs but we cannot figure out how to get them on.
Here is a picture of the box with George inside it. You must read the bottom. You will have to click on the picture to make it large enough to see. I checked this, and I had trouble reading it blown up, so here is what it says.........
Caution - Extreme Excitement Bundled Inside
Contents may cause excessive hugging, squealing, jumping and fist-pumping. APQS has a sense of humor.
There is things on my design wall, but you have seen them in this stage before, so I will chatter about something else. Here are pictures of my garage. I am in the process of cleaning up my sunporch and closets. I have more storage boxes ordered. I will fill up all the empty spaces. And my sunporch is going to look terrific especially when I get George in there. Here is hoping anyway.
I am putting everything in plastic containers with the hopes that the little critters will not nest in them. And because of all of this fabric, fabric shops are not going to get rich on me next year. I have just created a quilt pattern. I had all the fabric that I needed except for the background. I ordered that. That is what I am going to do this year. I am only buying what I absolutely need. If I don't this fabric is going to be here when I "kick the bucket." That is not good. So between bags, pillowcases and quilts I should be able to use a lot of it up with the grace of God.
It is getting cool. The day started out warm and humid and rainy. It has been getting cooler all day and by tonight it is going to be cold.
Hope all is well on your end........

Stash Report 19 Sept 2010.........etc
I have not done a stash report since 22 August but I have been taking notes. I have made borders and pulled fabric for three quilts (no borders or backs). I am going to make a back (pieced) this week so will pull fabric for that. I have oodles to do, am going to sew this afternoon. I am trying to finish up some quilts, but cannot stand not to start new ones (EQ7 is to blame). Isn't this fabric gorgeous. It was in my stash. I created a pattern for it and hopefully I will show it tomorrow on "What's on my Design Wall." I best go make some blocks.
I just let my dog out into the back yard. A lizard fell on my head. He jumped onto the floor, they move very fast. He ran under an empty box (thankfully I saw him). I lifted the box he ran for the door, before the cat got him, I opened the door and out ran the lizard. I love the lizards, they are amazing. I love them outside, not in my house. It is so fun to watch them do pushups. They will sit and look at you and bounce around if you talk to them. I think they actually like people.
I signed up for the bus trip to the Houston International show. The shop (from the Shop Hop - see earlier postings) in Lafayette is furnishing a bus (of course we pay). It will stop in Lake Charles to pick us up on its way to Houston. It is an over-nighter. We leave on Friday and return on Saturday. It should be great fun.

I might break even by the end of the year that is if I practice self control at Houston. I think I will look for things that I might like to have (a new mat) rather than fabric. Fabric I don't need................

Stash Report 23 May 2010
Look at this fabric. It was screaming at me - take me home. Actually I had been eyeing this fabric for months. The local shop had gotten this line in. But.........they saved it because they were going to do a block of the month quilt. They didn't sell any of it until they were through with their block of the month. So I patiently waited. I walked into the shop and one of the owners said to me - look at what is on the shelf. I promptly went home and designed a quilt. My intentions is to add tan to the fabric. It sounds like I bought a lot of fabric, but remember I piece my backs. Click on the picture, you will get a better view.

What's on my Design Wall......17 May 2010
I am continuing to work on the same project that I had started last week. I have ordered red fabric to go with this quilt. You would think that I would have red in my stash. I do have red in my stash, all the wrong reds. I hope that it will arrive today. You will have to come back next week and see what I do with the red. Hopefully it is not a dud.
Also this week I have been working on the arches for a wedding ring quilt. These are paper-pieced, so the white you see in the picture is the paper. I have them divided into sets (ribbons). There is 16 arches - A and B arch in each set. They start with light on one end and dark on the other. So what you are seeing is an A arch lying on top of a B arch and they go in opposite directions. I have 11 sets to make. I am trying to decide if I want to make two of these quilts (I have twin beds) or do I just want to make one and hang it. We will see how much of a pain it is when I start putting it together. This quilt is just not the usual wedding ring. It also has a star in it. Actually I think it will go together pretty easy, we will see.
I didn't report my stash yesterday, so I am going to include it here. I pulled 1 yard.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY...................
I am back to quilting. I have really missed it. I decided that I would start something new, which is probably not the thing I should do, but I wanted to start with something fresh. So, I created a pattern and dug in my stash, and picked up a piece or two.
Vic took me to dinner today. We went to the local Texas Roadhouse. They have really good catfish, a wonderful baked sweet potatoe, a very good Caesar salad and rolls with honey cinnamon butter. It is a feast, and oh, I must mention the raspberry tea. I sure would like to have the recipe for the raspberry tea. I was stuffed when I left, and Yethi is stuffed on leftovers.
Then we went shopping at Wal Mart. I needed a few things to add to my food locker for the week. Wal Mart was close so that is where we went. I love going to our super super grocery stores, but that was a bit out of our way and I didn't need anything special. Our Wal Marts are so clean. In California they were the pits. I rarely ever went.
Now for the Stash Report and I am looking forward to tomorrow to post "What is on my Design Wall."

Stash Report - 21 February 2010 and Sharie's News.......................
I designed a new quilt and I could not help but pull the fabrics. I don't think I will have to buy anything new for this one. I might have to buy some fabric for the back and the binding, but it should only be a small amount if that is the case. I have several quilts that I am trying to finish up (can't finish them if I start new ones). I do plan to get borders on one this week and with a little determination, I will get a back made the following week. I am hoping to finish, and that is the magical word (finish), at least one quilt a month. We will see. That was my plans last year, I didn't make it, but came close. I do have two finished so far for this year.
The Beaumont, TX quilt guild had for their speaker this past week, Monique Dillard. She is from Illinois. She gave an outstanding program. I was amazed at all her quilts.
The weather here is colored grey. The temps are not too bad, it is 62 degrees. I believe it is suppose to get cold again. Usually by this time of year our trees are budding. I don't think they are as yet. We certainly have had a strange winter (cold ) for living in the deep south. I hope that this is not a sign of a hot summer (what am I saying, I live in the south). We should not complain, at least the gulf is cool, and we always hope that it will stay that way (it keeps the hurricanes away).
I think I must have had a boring week, I really can't find much to chat about. So here is my STASH REPORT

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone.................
Last week I didn't report for I was at a retreat. It was wonderful. I am including last weeks in and out with this weeks report. On the 12th and 13th the Beaumont, TX guild held their Quilt Show. Beautiful, beautiful quilts. And of coarse they had vendors. They twisted my arm and the fabric called my name. And you know, the fabric wanted to go home with me so badly, it jumped into my bag.
Check my blog today, I am going to post my quilts that won ribbons - Yes, I won ribbons...............

Stash Report - 31 Jan 2010
I am moving along a little bit at a time. Today I will do a binding, not much there but it all adds up. That will show up next week. Between now and the 1oth, I will probably use very little fabric. I am preparing for a quilt show and thus must put on sleeves, bind a quilt, cover labels and etc.

I took out of my stash a few little pieces for quilts I am working on. It totaled about a half yard. I have several quilts that need borders then I will have to make backs. I should start those this week and should burn up some fabric. I am looking forward to having some space in my fabric cabinets, project boxes, storage boxes and so on and on.
